The story
The brief connects everyday gender inequalities with the security concerns and participation of Greek Cypriot women. It combines the Security Dialogue Initiative with Gender SCORE Cyprus, whose 1,600-person survey included 800 Greek Cypriot respondents. I led the underlying study’s design, analysis, and engagement; this is an institutional team output without an individual-author byline.
A finding to take away
Restrictive gender roles and masculinities are associated with obstacles to equality. Women’s lower political security and higher reported anxiety and depression also show why participation cannot be understood simply as a matter of formal rights. The recommendations connect social and economic conditions with a more inclusive peace process.
These are survey relationships and participatory recommendations, not measured intervention effects. The scope and approach are described on PDF pages 2-4.
